SSC MTS and Havaldar Exam Pattern

To succeed in this exam, it is essential to first understand its exam pattern thoroughly. The computer-based examination (CBT) of SSC MTS 2026 is divided into two sessions, and appearing in both sessions is mandatory.

1. Mathematics (Numerical and Mathematical Ability)

In Mathematics, your calculation speed and accuracy matter a lot.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET/PST Requirements) for Havaldar Post

If you have applied for the Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) post along with MTS, you will have to undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) after passing the written exam. The standards are as follows:

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Walking

  • Male Candidates: Must cover a distance of 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Female Candidates: Must cover a distance of 1 kilometer in 20 minutes.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Male Candidates: Minimum height of 157.5 cm and chest of 76 cm unexpanded (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm).
  • Female Candidates: Minimum height of 152 cm and minimum weight of 48 kg.

Advice: Candidates for the Havaldar post should continue regular practice of running/walking along with their physical fitness, alongside preparing for the written exam.
