The Staff Selection Commission (Staff Selection Commission) has released an important notice for its upcoming examinations. Announcing the SSC Revised Exam Dates 2026, the commission has made a major change in the dates of two major examinations. This corrigendum was released on the official website on October 26, 2026.
If you have also applied for the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) or SSC Sub-Inspector (CPO) 2026 exam, you should know about this new exam schedule in detail so that there is no hindrance in your preparation. In this article, we will discuss the revised schedule, exam pattern, and last-minute preparation strategies for both of these exams in detail.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a corrigendum on its official website, with reference number HQ-EC033/7/2025-EC. This notice has been issued in connection with the Important Notice previously released on October 1, 2026. The commission has decided to revise the dates of two of the biggest recruitment exams of the year 2026 due to administrative reasons and to improve exam management.
According to this new notice, some important revisions have been made to the dates of the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 and the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. Candidates are advised to keep these new dates in mind instead of the old ones while planning their exam preparation and travel.
Important Notice: It should be noted that this exam will be conducted only in Computer-Based Examination (Computer-Based Examination - CBE) mode. Candidates will need to download their admit cards from the websites of their respective regional offices.
For the convenience of candidates, the complete details of the revised dates are given in the table below. Through this table, you can easily understand the new schedule of both exams:
| S. No. | Name of Examination | Tier/Mode | Revised Proposed Dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 | Paper-I (CBE) | 02 to 06 November 2026 and 30 November to 01 December 2026 |
| 2 | Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026 | CBE | 23 to 28 November 2026 |
It is clear from this table that while the SSC JE exam has been divided into two different slots, the Delhi Police SI (CPO) exam will be conducted in the last week of November.
This change is highly significant for candidates applying for SSC Junior Engineer (JE) 2026. Previously, this exam was proposed to be held only from November 2 to November 6, 2026. However, according to the new corrigendum, this exam will now be conducted in two different time intervals:
This division might give extra time to those candidates whose exams are scheduled for the end of November. However, to keep the difficulty level of the exam balanced, the commission will use the Normalization method. This exam is highly competitive for candidates from Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering backgrounds under the Junior Engineer recruitment, so you must be fully prepared for either of the slots.
If you are preparing for the SSC Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination, 2026 (commonly known as SSC CPO), the exam dates have now changed slightly for you. According to the previous notice, this exam was scheduled to be held from November 20 to November 28, 2026, but it has now been revised:
This means that the start date of the exam has been postponed from November 20 to November 23, slightly reducing the overall duration of the exam. Candidates will now have to make their preparation more focused and intense as the exam days are very close. Through this exam, recruitment is done for the prestigious posts of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB).
Since the exams are starting in the month of November itself according to the SSC Revised Exam Dates 2026, candidates now have very limited time left. At this last moment, only a proper strategy can lead you to success. Here are some important tips that you must follow:
Instead of studying new topics at this time, focus on solving as many mock tests as possible. Take at least one full-length mock test daily and analyze it thoroughly. This will help you understand your weaknesses and improve your Time Management.
There is a provision for negative marking in both exams. Therefore, in the exam hall, answer only those questions about which you are completely confident. Making wild guesses can lead to a heavy drop in your overall score.
Following the announcement of the revised exam dates, candidates are eagerly waiting for their admit cards and exam city information (City Intimation Slip). According to the commission's policy, these details are released a few days before the commencement of the exam.
You can download your admit card by following the steps given below:
Remember: Do not forget to carry a valid original photo ID card (such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Driving License) and two recent passport-sized color photographs along with your admit card to the exam center.
This new notice of SSC Revised Exam Dates 2026 provides candidates with another opportunity to finalize their strategies. Whether you dream of becoming a Junior Engineer or want to serve the nation as a Sub-Inspector in the Delhi Police and Paramilitary Forces, this time is extremely crucial for you. Take this change in exam dates positively and accelerate the pace of your studies.
To strengthen your preparation further, practice online test series, and get excellent study material, you can take advantage of Patamde mock tests and study material, which will help make your path to success easier. Keep checking the official website of the commission for regular updates and have full faith in your hard work.
