Rajasthan SI Exam Scam: Platoon Commander Rajmohan Meena Arrested for Using Dummy Candidate

Rajasthan SI Exam Scam: Platoon Commander Rajmohan Meena Arrested for Using Dummy Candidate

Rajasthan SI Recruitment 2021: Rajmohan Meena, Who Became Platoon Commander Using a Dummy Candidate, Arrested

The Special Operations Group (SOG) is continuously taking action to bring transparency to government job examinations and crack down on mafias in Rajasthan. In this connection, a major success has been achieved in the Rajasthan SI Recruitment Exam 2021 (Sub Inspector Recruitment Exam 2021). The SOG has arrested the cunning accused Rajmohan Meena, who became a Platoon Commander by placing a dummy candidate in his place during the exam.

The accused Rajmohan had been on the run for about the last 17 months, and a reward of ₹10,000 had also been declared on him by the SOG. He was living under a hidden identity in a rented room near Kartarpura Phatak in Jaipur, from where the SOG team apprehended him. This arrest has once again proven that no matter how hard those who secure government jobs through illegal means try, they cannot escape the long arm of the law.

How Did This ₹10 Lakh Fraud Happen?

This entire case is related to the Sub-Inspector (SI) and Platoon Commander Recruitment Examination held in the year 2021. Rajmohan Meena (aged 29), a resident of Hingoni village in Sawai Madhopur, wanted to acquire the uniform through a shortcut instead of preparing for the exam himself. For this, he contacted a gang involved in paper leaks and placing dummy candidates.

  • Deal with the Kingpin: Rajmohan contacted Hanuman Prasad Meena (a resident of Tonk), the main kingpin of the gang that placed dummy candidates. A deal of ₹10 lakh was finalized between the two to clear the exam.
  • Use of Dummy Candidate: According to the deal, another dummy candidate was seated in the written exam in place of Rajmohan. The dummy candidate performed exceptionally well in the exam, on the basis of which Rajmohan got selected.
  • Rank in Merit List: With the help of this fraud, Rajmohan secured the 1623rd rank in the merit list and was finally selected for the post of Platoon Commander.

Fled from Jodhpur Training Center and Hid in Jaipur

After the completion of the selection process, Rajmohan Meena was sent to the Rajasthan Police Training Center (RPTC), Jodhpur, for basic training. He was undergoing his training there and trying to establish himself as a real police officer. However, the pot of sins could not remain hidden for long.

In the year 2024-25, when the SOG started an in-depth investigation into the paper leak and dummy candidate case (Case No. 10/2024) of the Rajasthan SI Recruitment Exam 2021, Rajmohan's name also began to surface. As soon as Rajmohan got wind that the SOG had uncovered his fraud, he suddenly fled from the Jodhpur Training Center on March 22, 2025.

After fleeing the training center, he did not even go to his ancestral village, Hingoni (Sawai Madhopur). To evade arrest by the police, he made Jaipur his hideout. He rented a room near Kartarpura Phatak in Jaipur and lived there in hiding.

Major Action by SOG and Upcoming Legal Process

SOG Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Vishal Bansal stated that continuous efforts were being made to search for the accused. Since he had been absconding for a long time, the police had declared a reward of ₹10,000 on him.

Under the efficient leadership of SOG DIG Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav and SP Kundan Kanwaria, a special team was formed. ASP Chiranjilal Meena, the investigating officer of this team, raided Kartarpura in Jaipur based on technical inputs and informant tips, and arrested the accused Rajmohan Meena on Tuesday (August 11, 2026).

Latest Update: Following the arrest, the accused was produced in court, from where the court sent him to police remand until August 15, 2026.

During this remand period, the SOG will conduct rigorous interrogation of the accused. The police are primarily investigating the following points:

  1. Who was the dummy candidate who took the exam in place of Rajmohan, and where is he hiding now?
  2. Were there other people or middlemen involved in this deal?
  3. Through what medium was the payment of this ₹10 lakh transaction made?

It is worth noting that the main broker and gang kingpin of this case, Hanuman Prasad Meena, was arrested by the SOG back in June 2024, and a chargesheet has already been filed against him in court. Now, the police are searching for the dummy candidate who wrote the exam in place of Rajmohan.

Impact of Dummy Candidates and Paper Leaks on Competitive Exams

In Rajasthan, cases of paper leaks and placing dummy candidates over the past few years have shattered the dreams of millions of honest youth. When an undeserving person passes an exam using money or unfair means, they not only snatch away the seat of a deserving candidate but also weaken the credibility of the entire administrative structure.

  • Demoralization of Honest Students: When students who work hard day and night see people directly becoming officers by paying money, they begin to lose faith in the system.
  • Decline in Administrative Efficiency: How will a person who does not even possess the capability to pass the exam himself manage law and order in the field? People like Rajmohan Meena could have proven to be a major threat to the police department.
  • Commendable Role of SOG: This alertness of the Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) is highly commendable. Tracking down criminals who have even reached the training center and sending them behind bars sends a message that justice prevails sooner or later.
