Big and important news is emerging for the youth preparing for competitive exams in Rajasthan. After the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota has now expressed its desire to take on the responsibility of conducting government recruitment exams in the state. Following the highly successful and secure conduct of major exams like PTET and Pre-DElEd recently, the university administration is now fully prepared to conduct VMOU Rajasthan Recruitment Exams.
This new initiative will not only speed up the state's recruitment calendar but could also help curb serious issues like frequent paper leaks and cheating. Let us look in detail at the reasons behind VMOU's bid and how it could prove beneficial for candidates in Rajasthan.
Currently, the entire responsibility for government recruitment in Rajasthan lies primarily with two major agencies—the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB). Over the past few years, due to paper leaks, dummy candidates, and other administrative irregularities, both of these boards have faced massive protests from candidates and unemployed youth organizations.
These controversies have not only raised questions about the credibility of the exams but have also stalled several important recruitments for a long time. In such a scenario, the state government and various departments felt the need for an additional and reliable alternative that could conduct exams with complete transparency.
Several government departments, such as the electricity department, roadways, and the medical department, have already been conducting some of their recruitments through other agencies outside of these two main boards. In this context, if VMOU emerges as an official agency to conduct VMOU Rajasthan Recruitment Exams, the state government will have a strong public-sector alternative to complete exams in a timely and secure manner.
Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) has recently proven its administrative and technical capabilities by successfully conducting highly sensitive and large-scale state-level exams.
Following this excellent track record, VMOU is now preparing its detailed proposal to conduct competitive and recruitment exams.
VMOU has leveraged state-of-the-art technologies to ensure security and transparency during its exams. The university administration claims to have the most secure system in place, from paper preparation to the monitoring of exam centers.
A high-tech 'State Command Center' was set up at Commerce College in Jaipur for live monitoring of the exams. Through this center, a direct eye was kept on exam centers across the state.
During the Pre-DElEd exam, CCTV cameras installed in the rooms of 887 exam centers across the state were connected directly to the command center in Jaipur via the internet. This made live monitoring of every single activity possible.
To instantly detect any suspicious activity or cheating attempts during the exam, AI-based software was utilized. This software identified suspicious activities and sent instant alerts to the command center, helping to curb dummy candidates and cheaters.
| Exam Challenges | Current Status of RPSC and RSSB | Solutions & Technology Offered by VMOU |
|---|---|---|
| Paper Leak Issue | Credibility has been affected due to paper leaks in several major exams over the past few years. | System of preparing papers through a highly confidential process and secure chain of custody. |
| Dummy Candidates and Cheating | Despite biometric and traditional checking at exam centers, cases of dummy candidates have continued to surface. | Real-time identification of suspicious activities through AI-based software and live CCTV streaming. |
| Lack of Monitoring | Keeping direct, timely surveillance on remote centers has been a major challenge. | Live monitoring of 887+ centers from the high-tech State Command Center established in Jaipur. |
| Excessive Workload | Having only two main boards leads to delays in conducting exams and declaring results. | Emerging as a third government option will decentralize the workload and ensure exams are held on time. |
VMOU's Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.L. Verma has expressed full confidence in the university's preparation and capabilities. According to him, the university possesses all three crucial pillars required to conduct exams without any errors:
"VMOU has high-level experts to prepare question papers. Our entire examination process is kept highly confidential, ensuring that no information related to the question paper leaks out. We have excellent technology available for strict monitoring of exam centers. We have already proven our capability by successfully conducting PTET and Pre-DElEd. If the state government entrusts us with the responsibility, we are fully prepared to conduct VMOU Rajasthan Recruitment Exams with complete transparency and security."
If the state government permits VMOU to conduct government recruitment exams, it will directly benefit lakhs of unemployed youth in Rajasthan:

Conducting fair and transparent recruitment exams in Rajasthan has always been a major challenge. At such a juncture, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) presenting its strong bid is an excellent opportunity for the state's education department and the government. Backed by its advanced technology, State Command Center, and AI-based monitoring system, VMOU has the potential to transform the direction and landscape of government recruitments in Rajasthan. Now, it will be highly interesting to see how soon the state government gives its final approval to this proposal.
