Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Exam 2026: New Dates and Important Updates

Very important news has emerged for lakhs of candidates preparing for government jobs in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB) has announced the new dates for the Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Exam 2026. Along with this, the board has issued a special notification for candidates who wish to withdraw their application from this exam due to a lack of eligibility/qualification or any other personal reasons.

This decision is extremely crucial for those candidates who have inadvertently applied with incorrect information or who do not possess the required educational certificates. The board has issued a clear warning that legal action may be taken against ineligible candidates who fail to withdraw their applications.

CET Senior Secondary Exam Date and New Schedule

According to the official notification issued by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, the Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Exam 2026 will now be conducted on December 1, 2, and 3, 2026. Previously, this exam was scheduled to be held in the last week of October 2026, but it has been rescheduled due to administrative reasons.

Important Fact: This change in the exam dates has given candidates approximately one month of extra time for revision and solving mock tests. This exam will be conducted across all 38 major districts of Rajasthan, allowing candidates the convenience of taking the exam at their nearest exam centers.

Golden Opportunity to Withdraw Application: October 16 to 18

To promote transparency and strict adherence to rules in the exam this time, the selection board has taken a unique step. If a candidate has applied for the Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Exam 2026 but does not possess a valid certificate for the minimum educational qualification (Class 12th or its equivalent) required for this exam, they can withdraw their application. Additionally, candidates who do not wish to appear for this exam for any reason have also been given the opportunity to withdraw their application.

  • Online Application Withdrawal Date: October 16 to October 18, 2026 (until 11:59 PM).
  • Warning of Action Against Ineligible Candidates: The board has clearly warned that if a candidate does not possess the required qualification and still does not withdraw their application, legal and punitive action will be taken against them if caught during the document verification process after the exam.
  • Last Opportunity: This is a limited three-day window, after which no candidate will be given the opportunity to withdraw their application.

How to Withdraw Application on the SSO Portal?

The board has kept this entire process completely online and paperless. Candidates can easily withdraw their application from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones or computers. For this, you need to follow these steps:

  1. First, visit the official Single Sign-On portal of the Rajasthan Government, i.e., the SSO Portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in).
  2. Log in by entering your registered SSO ID and password.
  3. After logging in, you will see several apps, from which you need to select the Recruitment Portal.
  4. Once on the homepage of the Recruitment Portal, click on the My Recruitment section from the top menu.
  5. Here, you will see a list of all the applications you have filled out. Click on the Withdraw button next to Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) 2026.
  6. The system will ask for confirmation. Verify all the details, submit the final request, and keep a screenshot or printout of this process safe for your records.

Please note that once an application is withdrawn, it cannot be restored or accepted again, nor will your application fee be refunded. Therefore, make this decision carefully.

Rajasthan CET 12th Level Exam Pattern and Required Marks

To achieve success in this exam, it is extremely important to understand the latest exam pattern and marking scheme. This time, the board has decided to keep the difficulty level of the exam slightly higher so that only serious and qualified candidates are declared eligible for the main examinations.

Major Recruitments Under CET Senior Secondary

The Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Exam 2026 is only an eligibility test, but without it, you cannot participate in the main examinations for 14 major services of the Rajasthan Government. The validity of previous exams has expired, making it mandatory to pass this exam with good marks to secure recruitment in these departments afresh.

Some of the most popular posts falling under this exam are as follows:

  • Rajasthan Police Constable: Passing this exam is the first and mandatory step to join the state police force.
  • Junior Assistant and Clerk Grade-II: Recruitment for LDC posts in various government departments and secretariats will be based on the score of this exam.
  • Hostel Superintendent: This exam is required for the posts of superintendent in hostels under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
  • Jamadar Grade-II & Forester: This exam is also a mandatory qualification to participate in the upcoming recruitments of the Excise Department and Forest Department.

Important Tips for Exam Preparation

With very little time left for the exam to be held in December, candidates should move forward with a precise and targeted strategy.

  • In-depth Syllabus Analysis: Pay special attention to subjects like Rajasthan's history, art, culture, geography, everyday science, mathematics, reasoning, general Hindi, and English.
  • Avoid Negative Marking: Since a 1/3rd negative marking will be applicable this time, answer only those questions about which you are completely confident.
  • Regular Mock Test Practice: Start taking regular mock tests to improve your time management. This will give you an opportunity to identify and work on your weaknesses.
