RRB Group D Recruitment: Preparations Underway for Bumper Recruitment of 30,000 Posts in Railways, Find Out When Applications Start

Very important and great news is coming for millions of youth across the country dreaming of getting a government job in the Railways. According to information received from media reports and the Amar Ujala Bureau (Prayagraj), the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has completed its preparations for the RRB Group D Recruitment (Level-1 Recruitment). This time, the railway administration is going to start the recruitment process for approximately 30,000 vacant posts.

After receiving the complete details of vacant posts from various railway zones, the Railway Recruitment Board is planning to release a short notice of the recruitment within this fortnight. If you also want to become a part of Indian Railways, this could prove to be a golden opportunity for you. Key Point: The Railway Board aims to complete the entire registration process by the end of December under all circumstances. This will ensure no adverse impact on the recruitment of the upcoming year.

Complete Blueprint of Recruitment and Railway's Annual Calendar

The Railway Recruitment Board has prepared a special blueprint this time to make the recruitment process smooth and transparent. In fact, after reviewing the vacant posts in various zones of the railways, it has been decided to address the shortage of staff in technical and safety categories as soon as possible.

The Board is trying to complete this year's recruitment process on time so that no obstacle arises in the cycle of new recruitments for the upcoming year. This is why the target has been set to start the online application process from the last week of November and conclude it within December. Immediately after this, the Board will get busy with the process of scrutiny and issuing admit cards.

Which Posts Will the Appointments Be Made For?

Under this recruitment drive, various technical and safety-related posts in the Group D (Level-1) category of the railways will be filled. According to news sources, appointments will mainly be made to the following posts:

  • Track Maintainer: Responsibility for the maintenance and safety of railway tracks.
  • Pointsman: Setting the track points for the safe operation of trains at railway stations and yards.
  • Other Technical Posts: Posts of technical assistants in various departments (such as Carriage and Wagon, Signal and Telecom).
  • Safety-related Posts: Assistant posts related to strengthening the safety of railway properties and passengers.

All these posts are considered extremely crucial for the smooth operation of the railways, which is why the selection process for them is kept quite rigorous and transparent.

Required Eligibility and Age Limit (Eligibility Criteria)

Candidates applying for RRB Group D Recruitment must meet the minimum educational and age-related eligibility criteria set by the Railway Recruitment Board. Although the detailed eligibility criteria will become fully clear only after the release of the official notification, the expected criteria as per general rules are as follows:

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board.
  • Along with this, for some technical posts, it may be mandatory for candidates to have an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in the relevant trade or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).

Age Limit

  • The minimum age is likely to be 18 years and the maximum age 33 years for General/UR category candidates.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories such as Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be provided relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules.

RRB Group D Selection Process

To secure final selection in the Railway Group D recruitment, candidates have to go through a multi-stage examination process. The main stages of the selection process prescribed by the Board are as follows:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT-1)

This is the first and most important stage of the selection process. The Railway Board has set a target to conduct the Computer Based Test (CBT) in the first quarter of the upcoming year. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage based on the marks obtained in this exam.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Male and female candidates successful in the CBT will have to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This includes physical tests such as running and running while carrying weight. This exam is only qualifying in nature.

3. Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination

Candidates who pass the physical test will be called for verification of their documents. After this, a detailed medical examination of the candidates will be conducted by railway doctors to ensure that they are physically fit for the respective post.

CBT-1 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

To succeed in the CBT exam, understanding its pattern is extremely important. Generally, 100 questions are asked in the Railway Group D exam, and candidates are given 90 minutes to solve them.

SubjectNumber of QuestionsMarks
General Science2525
Mathematics2525
General Intelligence and Reasoning3030
General Awareness and Current Affairs (GA & CA)2020
Total100100

Some Excellent Tips for Exam Preparation

Since the exam is expected to be conducted in the first quarter of the upcoming year, candidates have very limited time left for preparation. If you want to clear this exam in your very first attempt, you can adopt the following strategies:

  1. Understand the Syllabus Well: First of all, download the official syllabus and make a list of important topics for each subject.
  2. Create a Daily Study Timetable: Subjects like Mathematics and Reasoning require regular practice. Make sure to set aside 2 to 3 hours daily for them.
  3. Focus on Current Affairs: Study national and international events, sports, awards, and government schemes of the last 10 to 12 months thoroughly.
  4. Take Regular Mock Tests: To understand the exam environment and improve time management, solve at least two mock tests a week.

To make your preparation stronger and more systematic, you can take advantage of Patamde mock tests and study material, where you will find mock tests based on the latest exam pattern, solved question papers from previous years, and excellent study material.
