Extremely important news is coming in for the lakhs of youth in Rajasthan who are preparing for 10th-pass government jobs. Alok Raj, the Chairman of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), has given clear indications that the Rajasthan CET 10th Level Exam 2027, i.e., the 10th-level Common Eligibility Test (CET), is going to be implemented in the state soon. According to the Board Chairman, this exam will be conducted in the year 2027. If you too are dreaming of becoming a Forest Guard, Fourth Class Employee, or securing other 10th-level government jobs in Rajasthan, it is highly essential for you to understand this new system of CET 10th 2027 and formulate your strategy accordingly.
In this article, we will provide you with every piece of information, big and small, related to the Rajasthan CET 10th Level Exam, including the reasons for its implementation, tentative exam dates, exam pattern, syllabus, and the complete list of recruitments coming under it.
Currently, in Rajasthan, the CET exam is conducted only for Graduation and Senior Secondary (12th) levels. However, there was no common eligibility test for recruitments requiring a 10th-pass qualification. Because of this, even for minor recruitments like Fourth Class Employees, Lab Attendants, and Foresters, applications are received in lakhs.
Clarifying the main reasons behind this decision on social media, RSSB Chairman Alok Raj stated:
"In 10th-based exams, even for just 40-50 posts, 10 to 15 lakh forms are filled. Conducting separate preliminary exams for such a massive number of candidates is not only difficult for the Board but also highly sensitive in terms of security and paper leaks. Therefore, efforts are being made to implement CET at the 10th level to make all these exams two-stage, so that only serious and qualified candidates can appear in the main examination."
Alok Raj, the Chairman of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), clarified the situation regarding the conduct of this exam while answering candidates' questions on social media. He stated that the Board is fully preparing to implement this new exam.
Almost all major recruitments in Rajasthan requiring a 10th-pass qualification will be brought under the purview of this new exam. This will eliminate the need for candidates to take separate preliminary exams for each recruitment. Some of the major expected recruitments under CET 10th 2027 are as follows:
Although the official exam pattern will be released along with the detailed notification, based on the Board's previous patterns and the Chairman's statements, its rules could be as follows:
| Particulars | Expected Rules / Information |
|---|---|
| Type of Exam | Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) |
| Number of Questions | 150 Questions (Expected) |
| Total Marks | 300 Marks |
| Negative Marking | Deduction of 1/3 mark |
| Minimum Qualifying Marks | 40% (for general categories) |
| Score Validity | 3 Years |
| Exam Level | Class 10th (Secondary Level) |
For the convenience of candidates, a comparison of the three CET levels conducted in Rajasthan is provided in the table below:
| Exam Level | Educational Qualification | Key Target Recruitments | Expected Exam Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
| CET Graduate Level | Graduation | Patwari, Village Development Officer (VDO), Junior Accountant, etc. | January 16-18, 2027 |
| CET Senior Secondary Level | 12th Pass | LDC, Rajasthan Police Constable, Hostel Superintendent, etc. | December 1-3, 2026 |
| CET 10th Level | 10th Pass | Forest Guard, Lab Attendant, Fourth Class Employee, Excise Constable, etc. | Year 2027 (January or April-May) |
Even though the exam is proposed to be held in 2027, to succeed in this competitive era, you need to start formulating your strategy right now. You can start preparing for CET 10th 2027 in the following ways:
Rajasthan GK holds the highest weightage in any competitive exam in Rajasthan. You should thoroughly study the history, geography, art-culture, and political system of Rajasthan. Pay special attention to the changed geographical and administrative facts after the formation of new districts.
Since this exam will be of 10th-grade level, questions on basic Mathematics and General Science up to Class 10th will be asked. Clear your concepts using NCERT or Rajasthan Board (RBSE) textbooks from Class 6 to 10.
Along with Reasoning, build a strong grip on General Hindi and English grammar. These subjects prove to be highly scoring in the exam and help improve your overall cut-off.
To give your preparation the right direction, analyze previous years' board papers and the syllabus of exams like Fourth Class Employee or Pashu Parichar (Animal Attendant). Taking regular mock tests will enhance your speed and accuracy.
The implementation of CET 10th 2027 in Rajasthan is a major shift for all candidates preparing for 10th-pass government jobs. Although some students might find this system challenging as an additional exam, it will prove highly beneficial in making the entire recruitment process more secure, transparent, and organized. Preparation in the right direction well in advance is what will bring you success in this exam.
