Big and important news has emerged for lakhs of D.El.Ed. and TET qualified candidates dreaming of becoming government teachers in Uttar Pradesh. Following the release of the advertisement for 11,508 teacher recruitment for urban council schools in the Basic Education Department, all eyes are now on the Supreme Court's final verdict regarding the reservation dispute in the 69,000 teacher recruitment. Immediately after this highly anticipated decision, the path for more than 45,000 rural teacher recruitments in the rural areas of the state will be completely cleared.
The department has already received the requisition for more than 45,000 vacant posts of assistant teachers in rural areas. However, keeping in mind the legal hurdles and potential changes in the seat equations following the court's decision, this requisition has not yet been sent to the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC). If you too are preparing for the primary teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh, this report is extremely important for you. The advertisement for the 69,000 assistant teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh was released on December 4, 2018. Ever since this recruitment process began, it has been mired in controversy. Serious allegations of discrepancies were raised, mainly regarding compliance with reservation rules in this recruitment, due to which the reservation issue on about 19,000 posts got completely stuck.
According to officials of the Basic Education Department, a requisition for more than 45,000 vacant posts has been prepared to address the acute shortage of teachers in rural council primary schools. However, this recruitment will get the green light only after the Supreme Court delivers its final verdict on the 69,000 recruitment case.
Surendra Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board, clarified:
"The complete details of the rural teacher recruitment and the requisition for vacant posts have been received by the department. However, there could be a situation where some changes in the reservation and number of posts might occur after the court's decision. In view of this uncertainty, the requisition has not yet been sent to the Selection Commission (UPESSC). As soon as the court's decision is announced, the situation will become clear, and the requisition will be immediately sent to the commission to start the recruitment process."
Therefore, as soon as the Supreme Court's order is released, the Basic Education Department will send the proposal for recruitment to these 45,000 posts to the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission through the online portal without any delay.
While recruitment in rural areas is subject to the court's decision, on the other hand, the department has shown urgency in addressing the shortage of teachers in urban council schools. The Basic Education Board has initiated the process for teacher recruitment on 11,508 posts for urban areas.
This recruitment is historic because:
