The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a highly important official notice for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment candidates. If you have also applied under CEN No. 01/2026, it is crucial for you to know that after re-scrutinizing candidates' applications, the railways has released the revised notice for RRB ALP Application Status 2026. According to this notice issued on October 14, 2026, candidates can now check the current status of their applications online.
The primary objective of this revised notice is to ensure that no eligible candidate's application is wrongly rejected due to technical or administrative reasons. Since the RRB ALP CBT 1 exam is scheduled to be held in November 2026, this is the final and most crucial opportunity for candidates to check their application status. Let's find out in detail in this article how you can check your RRB ALP Application Status 2026 and what the key points of this notice are.
The Railway Recruitment Board had invited applications for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot (Level-2) posts under CEN No. 01/2026. The important events and dates associated with this recruitment process can be clearly understood from the table below:
| Important Event | Details & Dates |
|---|---|
| Recruitment Notification (CEN No.) | CEN No. 01/2026 (Assistant Loco Pilot - Level 2) |
| Total Vacancies | 14,627 posts (including revised vacancies) |
| First Application Status Notice | August 25, 2026 |
| Revised Application Status Notice | October 14, 2026 |
| Status Check Link Activation Time | October 14, 2026 (from 23:59 hrs) |
| Official Website | www.rrbapply.gov.in |
| CBT 1 Exam Dates | November 3 to November 5, 2026 (Tentative) |
Important Note: The Railway Recruitment Board has clarified that the applications of candidates which were previously rejected due to some error or those who had doubts have been re-examined. Therefore, all candidates are advised to definitely check their new status.
For the convenience of candidates, the RRB has kept the process of checking the status on the online portal extremely simple. You can check your revised RRB ALP Application Status 2026 by following the steps given below:
Additionally, the Railway Recruitment Board is also sending SMS to the registered mobile numbers and emails to the registered email IDs of all those candidates whose application status has changed or whose applications have been finally accepted/rejected.
When you check your RRB ALP Application Status 2026, you will see one of the following three statuses against your application. Candidates must clearly understand the meaning of these three categories:
This means that the primary information and documents provided by you have been found correct for now, and you have been given provisional permission to appear for the exam. However, this is entirely 'Provisional'. If any discrepancy is found in any subsequent stage of recruitment (such as document verification or medical examination), your candidacy may be cancelled.
This status means that your application has been accepted, but with certain conditions attached. For example, if there is a minor error in your caste certificate, EWS certificate, or any other document, you will have to present correct and valid documents at the time of Document Verification.
If your status shows 'Rejected', it means your application has been turned down. According to the notice, this time the railways has also clearly indicated the Reasons for Rejection. Applications are rejected due to reasons such as incorrect photographs, mismatched signatures, or failure to meet eligibility criteria.
If unfortunately your application has been rejected, you should first carefully look at the reason for rejection. In point number 4 of the official notice, the Railway Recruitment Board has clearly stated:
"RRBs express inability to entertain any correspondence or representation from ineligible/rejected candidates."
This simply means that this time candidates will not be given any opportunity to modify their applications or appeal again. Since a modification window (June 17 to 26, 2026) was already provided earlier, this decision will now be considered final. Candidates whose applications have been rejected will not be able to appear in the CBT 1 exam.
Candidates whose applications are shown as "Provisionally Accepted" or "Conditionally Accepted" should start finalizing their preparation without wasting any time. With the release of the RRB ALP Application Status 2026, the countdown to the exam has begun. The CBT 1 exam is tentatively scheduled to be held between November 3 and November 5, 2026.
