RSSB LDC 2026 Phase II Typing Test: Guidelines, Pattern, and Dates

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur has released the detailed guidelines and exam schedule for Phase-II of the Clerk Grade-II / Junior Assistant Joint Direct Recruitment Exam 2026 [1]. If you have successfully cleared the first phase of this recruitment exam, then the RSSB LDC 2026 Phase II Typing Test is a highly crucial stage for you [1]. In this exam, candidates' typing speed and efficiency in both Hindi and English on a computer will be tested [1].

In this article, we will provide you with detailed information about the exam dates, detailed pattern, evaluation methodology, keyboard layout, and important rules to keep in mind in the exam hall [1, 2, 3].

RSSB LDC 2026 Phase II Typing Test: Important Dates

According to the official notification released by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, the LDC Phase-II exam will be conducted in December 2026 [1]. Candidates will be able to download their e-Admit Card for the exam from the board's official website www.rssb.rajasthan.gov.in [1].

Exam DatesAdmit Card and Mock Test Information
From 21.12.2026 to 24.12.2026 and 26.12.2026, 28.12.2026, 29.12.2026 [1]A link for the Mock Test will be made available on the Board's website approximately 15 days prior to the exam [1].

Important Note: Candidates are advised to attempt the online mock test provided before the exam so that they can become well-acquainted with the exam's software interface [1].

Exam Pattern and Minimum Qualifying Marks

There will be a total of four parts in this RSSB LDC 2026 Phase II Typing Test [1]. This exam will be entirely computer-based (Computer Based Test) [1]. To pass the exam, it is mandatory for candidates to secure the minimum prescribed marks in each part [1, 3].

Paper NumberSubjectPrescribed TimeMaximum MarksQualifying Marks
1Hindi Typing Speed Test10 minutes259 [1]
2English Typing Speed Test10 minutes259 [1]
3Hindi Efficiency Test100 minutes259 [1]
4English Efficiency Test10 minutes259 [1]
  • Relaxation for Reserved Category: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories will be given a relaxation of up to 5 percent in the minimum qualifying marks of each paper [1].
  • Mandatory Requirement: It is mandatory for candidates to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in each of the four papers individually, failing which they will be declared failed [3].

Rules and Evaluation Process for Speed Test

The main objective of the Speed Test is to check your typing speed and accuracy [1]. For this, the board has set some strict rules [1, 2]:

  • Paragraph Size: During the exam, a paragraph of 500 words for English and 400 words for Hindi will be displayed on the computer screen [1].
  • Marking Scheme:
    • 0.05 marks will be awarded for each correct word typed in English [1].
    • 0.0625 marks will be awarded for each correct word typed in Hindi [1].

No Marks for These Mistakes (Negative Evaluation Rules)

During typing, no marks will be awarded for that word or character if the following errors are made [1, 2]:

  1. Writing incorrect characters, words, or numbers [1].
  2. Omission of any character, word, or number [1].
  3. Repeating words, characters, or an entire line (Repetition) [2].
  4. Incorrect use of punctuation marks [2].
  5. Errors in word-spacing [2].
  6. Incorrect use of capital and small letters in English typing [2].
  7. Incorrect use of vowel signs (matras) in Hindi typing [2].

Unnecessary Repetition of Vowel Signs (Matras): If you repeatedly press a key for a vowel sign (matra) which does not appear on the screen but is registered by the computer, it will be treated as an error [2]. For example, if the correct word is केवल and you have typed dsssssoy, it will be considered incorrect. Only dsoy will be considered correct [2].

Important Rules for Efficiency Test

The purpose of the Efficiency Test is to assess your practical knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software [2].

  • Software: The Hindi Efficiency Test will be conducted on MS Word 2013 and the English Efficiency Test on MS Excel 2013 [2].
  • Questions and Tasks: Questions related to paragraphs and tables will be asked [2]. For example: Paragraph formatting, Paging, Header, Footer, Font, Background, Table Border, Spacing, Word replace, Cell Formatting, Alignment, etc [2].
  • Number of Questions: 15 separate questions will be given for each of the two languages during the exam [2].
  • Keyboard Restrictions: During the exam, Cut-Copy-Paste, Right Mouse Click, Select All, and all Function Keys (F1 to F12) will be blocked on the computer [2]. Apart from these, all other standard keys will function [2].
  • Error Correction: If you make a mistake during the efficiency test, you can correct it using CTRL+Z [2].
  • Do Not Tamper with Default Content: Paragraphs and tables will be pre-typed on the exam screen [2]. You only need to complete the asked tasks (such as changing formatting or applying borders) [2]. If you delete the original text or table, or make any unauthorized changes to it, no marks will be awarded for that question [2].

Instructions Regarding Keyboard & Font

The Board has completely clarified the position regarding fonts in the RSSB LDC 2026 Phase II Typing Test [2]:

  • English Typing: A standard font commonly used in computers will be used for this [2].
  • Hindi Typing: Standard Keyboard and DevLys 010 font will be used for Hindi typing [2].
  • Important Restriction: Candidates cannot bring their own keyboard or keyboard stickers to the exam center [3]. No stickers of any kind will be allowed to be pasted on the keyboard [3].

Essential Tips and Precautions for the Exam Hall

To avoid any technical issues or anxiety during the exam, pay special attention to these points [3]:

  1. Practice Test: After taking your seat in the exam hall, log in to the computer and thoroughly check your keyboard, mouse, and screen during the practice test [3]. If there is any hardware or software issue, inform the invigilator before the exam starts [3]. No complaints in this regard will be entertained after the exam begins [3].
  2. Back-Space Rule:
    • In Speed Test: If you have typed a word incorrectly, you can use the backspace key to correct it only until you have pressed the Space-Bar or Enter key to type the next word [3]. Once the Space-Bar or Enter key is pressed, backspace will not work [3].
    • In Efficiency Test: You can use backspace as per your requirement [3].
  3. Restriction on Shortcut Keys: Do not use Alt and Control keys (except CTRL+Z in the efficiency test) or any other shortcut keys during the exam [2, 3].
  4. Discipline: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited during the exam [3]. If any candidate tampers with the computer system without authorization, legal action will be taken against them [4].

With regular practice and the right strategy, you can easily pass this exam. To strengthen your preparation, you can use Patamde mock tests and study material, where you will find excellent practice material according to the exam pattern.
