Great and relieving news has emerged for lakhs of candidates dreaming of becoming a Sub Inspector (SI) and Platoon Commander in the Rajasthan Police. Colonel Kesari Singh, Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), has officially confirmed that the RPSC SI 2021 Re-Exam Result will be released this week. The long wait for candidates of this recruitment, which was entangled in controversies and legal hurdles for a long time, is finally coming to an end.
Candidates who appeared in this re-examination conducted by the Commission on 20 September 2026 were eagerly waiting for their exam results. Following the Chairman's statement, the Commission's preparations to release the results have reached the final stage. In this article, we will provide you with detailed information about all the important events related to this recruitment, expected cut-offs, mandatory minimum marks, and the complete process to check the results.
This recruitment exam has been one of the most talked-about and roller-coaster exams in the history of Rajasthan. The recruitment process, which started in the year 2021, faced massive protests due to allegations of paper leaks and dummy candidates. Following this, a historic decision was made to cancel the exam and conduct it again based on court orders and the state government's recommendation.
You can easily understand the journey of this entire recruitment through the table below:
| Important Date / Event | Details |
|---|---|
| 03 February 2021 | Release of original recruitment advertisement (Total 859 posts) |
| 13–15 September 2021 | Conduct of original written examination |
| 05 May 2026 | Cancellation of exam by RPSC on the directions of Rajasthan High Court |
| 20 September 2026 | Conduct of Re-Exam in 11 districts of the state |
| 21-23 September 2026 | Release of Model Answer Key and objection window |
| November 2026 (This Week) | Expected announcement of RPSC SI 2021 Re-Exam Result |
In the re-exam held on 20 September 2026, candidates faced an extremely difficult question paper. Especially, the level of General Knowledge and General Science (Paper-II) was so tough that even well-prepared candidates struggled. Due to this high difficulty level, there is significant anxiety among candidates regarding the minimum qualifying marks.
According to RPSC rules, candidates must obtain separate minimum marks in both papers to remain in the selection process:
Important Fact: The level of the exam was so difficult that many experts believe scoring even 40% marks will prove to be a major challenge this time. Under these circumstances, there are also apprehensions that some posts in reserved categories might remain vacant due to candidates failing to secure the minimum qualifying marks.
This time, only those candidates who were present in the original 2021 exam were allowed to appear in the re-exam. Consequently, a massive drop was recorded in the number of registered candidates. While around 7.97 lakh candidates had applied in 2021, only 2,18,114 candidates were deemed eligible for this re-exam.
According to the official data of the Commission, the attendance in both shifts on the exam day was as follows:
Since appearing in both papers is mandatory for the final merit list, the actual competition is only among those 1,50,559 candidates who participated in both exams. This number is significantly lower compared to the previous exam, which might make the path to selection slightly easier for candidates who prepared seriously.
As soon as the result is announced by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, candidates will be able to check their results by visiting the official website. Follow the steps below to check the result:
First, visit the official website of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in.

After the release of the written exam results, the candidates declared successful will have to undergo the next stages of selection:
Given the Commission's strict stance and rapid functioning, it is expected that the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be organized by the end of December and the interviews will be completed in January.
If you too are preparing for Rajasthan Police or other state-level competitive exams and are looking for mock tests and excellent study material, you can leverage Patamde mock tests and study material to strengthen your preparation.
According to RPSC Chairman Colonel Kesari Singh, the result of the Sub Inspector Recruitment 2021 re-examination will be released this week (November 2026).
Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper, while SC and ST category candidates must secure a minimum of 36% marks.
Yes, according to candidates and experts, this time the paper (especially Paper-2 General Knowledge) was of a highly difficult level, due to which the cut-off is expected to remain low.
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
