The Rajasthan LDC Exam conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB) is a fantastic opportunity for thousands of youth in the state to enter government service. The written exam (Phase 1) for recruitment to a total of 10,644 vacant posts of Clerk Grade-II and Junior Assistant was held on July 5, 2026, and its results were declared on September 28, 2026. For candidates who qualified in the written exam, the next and most crucial stage is the LDC Typing Test 2026.
In the RSMSSB LDC recruitment process, merely passing the written exam is not enough; to secure a place in the final selection list, performing exceptionally well in the second stage, i.e., the Computer Typing and Efficiency Test (Phase 2), is mandatory. This stage is worth a total of 100 marks, which directly affects your final merit list. Therefore, without the right strategy and continuous practice, passing this exam can be difficult. In this article, we will provide you with all the crucial information, important dates, and the best preparation tips related to this exam.
Time management is the most crucial factor in the Rajasthan LDC exam process. Following the declaration of the written exam results, the board has announced the official schedule for the second phase. Candidates must keep in mind that the time available for the typing test is very limited, so they should focus on improving their speed and accuracy immediately after the results.
According to the official notification, the LDC Typing Test 2026 will be conducted between December 20 and December 30, 2026. For the convenience of candidates, the details of important dates related to the exam are given below:
| Exam Stage | Important Date |
|---|---|
| Official Notification Release Date | January 12, 2026 |
| Rajasthan LDC Written Exam (Phase 1) | July 5, 2026 |
| Written Exam Result Declaration Date | September 28, 2026 |
| LDC Typing Test 2026 | December 20 to 30, 2026 |
| Document Verification | January/February 2027 (Tentative) |
According to this schedule, candidates have approximately two and a half to three months of practice time available after the written exam results. By utilizing this period effectively, you can take your typing speed and accuracy to their peak.
The format of the RSMSSB LDC Typing exam is slightly different and more challenging than other exams. In this, candidates have to prove their typing speed and computer efficiency in both Hindi and English languages. This exam is of 100 marks in total and is divided into two main parts: Speed Test and Efficiency Test.
The exam pattern for each language (Hindi and English) is detailed in the following table:
| Test Name | Language | Type | Max Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Speed Test | Hindi | Typing Speed | 25 Marks | 10 Minutes |
| Efficiency Test | Hindi | Computer Efficiency | 25 Marks | 10 Minutes |
| Speed Test | English | Typing Speed | 25 Marks | 100 Minutes (Total) |
| Efficiency Test | English | Computer Efficiency | 25 Marks | 10 Minutes |
| Total Marks and Time | - | - | 100 Marks | 40 Minutes |
Important Rule: To pass this exam, it is mandatory to obtain a minimum of 36% marks in each section (all four tests) (i.e., at least 9 out of 25 marks). If you score less than 9 marks in any single section, you will be declared Fail, regardless of how high your marks were in the written exam.
In most exams conducted by the Rajasthan Government, a specific font is used for Hindi typing. In the RSMSSB LDC exam as well, the Hindi Typing Devlys 010 font is used. This font is based on the Remington keyboard layout, which is similar to the traditional typewriter layout.
If you are preparing for this exam, you must pay special attention to the following points:
While practicing Hindi typing in Devlys 010, you will need to install this font on your computer. It works on the Remington layout, which means that each key on the English keyboard represents a specific Hindi letter or vowel sign (matra). For example, pressing the English 'D' types the Hindi letter 'क', and pressing 'F' types the vowel sign for 'इ'. Thus, you must train your fingers in such a way that they move to the correct keys without looking at the keyboard. This is called 'Touch Typing'.
Along with the speed test, the Computer Efficiency Test is also worth 50 marks (25 marks for Hindi and 25 marks for English). This test is conducted to evaluate the candidate's practical knowledge of word processing software (mainly MS Word and MS Excel).
Scoring full marks in the efficiency test is relatively easy if you understand its syllabus well. In this test, you are usually asked to perform the following tasks:
