Great and highly encouraging news has emerged for youth dreaming of becoming a Junior Engineer (JEN) in the government departments of Rajasthan. A massive increase in the number of vacancies is set to take place in the Rajasthan JEN Recruitment being conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB). The board will add more than 800 new posts to this recruitment, bringing the total number of vacancies to 1,674.
Due to the near-doubling of the vacancies, the selection board is preparing to reopen the application portal for this recruitment process. This will directly benefit new candidates who were unable to apply earlier for some reason or have recently completed their qualifications. In this article, we will discuss in detail all the important information related to this recruitment, such as department-wise vacancy details, exam pattern, and when the revised notification will be released. If you are also preparing for government jobs in Rajasthan, you can regularly visit Patamde Study for precise exam strategies and study guides.
The current Chairman of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Alok Raj, has officially confirmed that the number of vacancies in the JEN recruitment will be increased. Currently, this recruitment was underway for only 874 posts, but the board decided to increase the vacancies after receiving demands for additional vacancies from various government departments.
The process of issuing the revised notification (Revised Notification) and reopening the application portal might take some time. The main reason for this is the ongoing panchayat elections in the state. As soon as the Model Code of Conduct for the panchayat elections ends, the selection board will immediately release the revised notification.
The board has started its administrative preparations for this. As soon as the Model Code of Conduct is lifted, both new and old candidates will get the opportunity to apply and make corrections to their forms.
Under the ongoing recruitment process, applications were initially invited for a total of 874 posts. Among these, the highest number of posts is with the Public Works Department (PWD). Let's understand the initial classification of these posts through the table below:
| Department Name | Total Posts | Non-TSP | TSP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public Works Department (PWD) | 393 | 356 | 37 |
| Water Resources Department (WRD) | 251 | 227 | 24 |
| Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) | 230 | 210 | 20 |
| Total Posts (Initial) | 874 | 793 | 81 |
(Note: After the release of the revised notification, the detailed department-wise and category-wise classification of the increased 800+ posts will be released separately by the board.)
Following this massive increase in the number of vacancies, the competition is set to become even more exciting. Previously, a total of 47,476 degree and diploma-holding candidates had applied for this recruitment. Now, when the application process restarts, the number of applicants is bound to increase further.
The selection board has already released the scheme and detailed syllabus for this exam. To prepare better for the exam, it is extremely important to understand the exam pattern. Let's take a look at its key highlights:
