AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme 2026: A Golden Opportunity for Female Students in Technical Education

If you are a female student aspiring to build an excellent career in the technical field (Technical Education), but financial constraints are standing in the way of your dreams, a highly important opportunity has arrived for you. The online application process for the Pragati Scholarship Scheme 2026, administered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has begun. The primary objective of this scheme is to encourage promising female students in the country to pursue higher technical education by providing them with financial assistance.

If you also want to take advantage of this scheme and give wings to your dreams, you must complete your application before October 31, 2026. In this special article by Patamde Study, we will provide you with detailed information on every aspect of this scholarship, including eligibility, required documents, financial benefits, and the application process.

What is the Pragati Scholarship and What are its Objectives?

The Pragati Scholarship Scheme is a highly ambitious initiative run by AICTE under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to meritorious female students from economically weaker families so that they can continue their technical education (Technical Education) such as B.Tech or Diploma without any financial hurdles.

Launched to promote women's empowerment (Women Empowerment), the government aims to ensure through this scheme that no deserving female student has to drop out of her studies solely due to a lack of funds. This scholarship provides a wonderful platform for female students to become self-reliant and make their mark in technical fields. Every year, thousands of eligible female students are shortlisted and provided with financial assistance under this scheme.

Benefits and Financial Assistance Provided Under the Scholarship

Under the AICTE Pragati Scholarship, selected female students are provided with a fixed financial assistance every year. The most notable feature of this scheme is that this amount is sent directly to the students' bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), leaving no room for any delay or discrepancy.

  • Annual Financial Assistance: Eligible female students selected under this scheme are given a lump sum financial assistance of ₹50,000 every year.
  • Utilization of the Amount: This scholarship amount can be used to pay college fees (College Fees), purchase computers or laptops, stationery, books, necessary equipment (Equipments), software (Software), and meet other related expenses.
  • Assistance According to Course Duration:
    • B.Tech (First Year): Students taking admission in the first year receive this scholarship for a maximum of 4 years (i.e., a total of ₹2,00,000).
    • Lateral Entry (Second Year): Students taking direct admission into the second year through lateral entry receive the benefits of this scholarship for a maximum of 3 years (i.e., a total of ₹1,50,000).
